Proper wall anchoring is essential for the safety and stability of your YouLift Bed. The bed's cabinet must be securely attached to the wall to prevent tipping and ensure safe use. We never recommend using the bed without it being properly anchored.
We provide all the necessary hardware for most common wall types, including:
- Wood studs: For walls with wood studs, we provide wood screws designed to secure the bed to the studs. Using a stud finder, locate the studs in your wall and drill pilot holes where indicated in the assembly instructions.
- Drywall: For walls made of drywall, we provide toggle bolts. These are ideal for attaching to drywall and ensuring a secure fit. Be sure to drill pilot holes using the provided drill bit before inserting the toggle bolts.
If your wall is made of materials other than wood studs or drywall, such as plaster, masonry, or concrete, we recommend consulting with a contractor or your local hardware store. They can guide you to the right anchors and fasteners suitable for your specific wall type to ensure safe and secure installation.
Why is wall anchoring so important?
Failing to properly anchor the YouLift Bed to the wall can result in the bed tipping or shifting during use, which could cause injury or damage. It is vital that the cabinet is securely fastened to the wall to maintain the bed’s stability, especially when raising or lowering the platform. Always double-check that the cabinet is level and firmly secured before using the bed.
